How I Grew My Hair From Bald to Back

Can African American Hair grow to the waist?  If you've seen the many hair journey videos on the internet, the answer is Yes.  Then you ask, how did they do it.  Well, if you go to my website, and click on Skin Glow Hair Grow you will see a picture of me with hardly any hair! I use this every day to stimulate growth and to lock in moisture.

Now, my hair is way down my back.  It has never been this long before.  But this is how I did it.  When I design my hair products, I have four goals in mind. The products must Stimulate growth at the scalp, increase combing ease to minimize breakage, hydrate and moisturize which are two different things that prevents breakage.

Goal 1: Hair will grow all the time. That is not the issue. Studies have shown that even past death, hair and nails continue to grow. However, many of us would like for hair to grow a little faster.  A good comparison would be weight loss..hence weight loss supplements.  If you watch your diet and excercise, you will probably lose weight over time. However, if you do those things and add a supplement, you may lose weight loss much faster.  That is why my Blue Milk shampoo and Silk Milk conditioner is so effective.  The ingredients are formulated to increase scalp circulation, thus increasing the chances of faster hair growth.

Goal 2:  Increase combing-ease by hydrating thirsty hair to minimize breakage. One reason that hair length is not retained is due to it breaking as quick as it grows, maybe even twice as much. I stated that hair grows all the time. However, many of us do not see the length accumulate due to hair being extremely dry and tightly coiled. My shampoo and conditioners are created to help thick, coiled hair to comb out easily. The less you break, the more hair remains. And remember, no strand is left behind.

Goal 3: Hydration. Remember Jerri Curls? I remember folks wanted to get Jerri Curls because it was believed that it grew your hair. But Jerri Curls was loaded with harsh chemicals and it wasn't the Jerri Curls, it was the constant spraying of activation liquid. that kept the hair hydrated and reducing less breakage, thus accumulating length. The Carry and Condition Me Every Day spray was designed to keep your hair hydrated all day with a sweet scent to accompany your healthy hair! If you spray with this, you will minimize breakage and accumulate length. I absolutely cannot live without this stuff, it's in my purse every day!

Goal 4: Moisturize Hair. Hydrating keeps the hair a little damp and supple. Moisturize keeps the hair from drying out. Many oils such as coconut oil and olive oils are great for sealing in moisture. This will help the hair remain moisturized and hydrated for longer periods of time.  Also, it would allow the comb to glide through the hair.

There you have it. Stimulate growth and keep a focus on anti-breakage techniques. Please check out my website of natural soaps and handmade hair products at www.cherokeeweah.com.

Soap for Sensitive Skin

Buttermilk Soap is a Great Option for Sensitive Skin!

Hello, I am Christie also known as the Soap Sista.  I absolutely love the art of soap making.  This article discusses the benefits of having buttermilk in your soap. And what better way to purchase a product where you can actually see it in the making!
Why Buttermilk Soap?

Buttermilk is the leftovers churned from butter.  When we think of buttermilk, you might picture grandma in the kitchen with an apron baking biscuits. While I certainly miss those good ol' days, I also have to remember that history has theorized that Cleopatra, said to be one of the most beautiful women in the world, used to bathe in milk.

And while our ancient members of society might have not had the scientific breakdown of what actually is in buttermilk, I am sure they connected beautiful skin with milk. The main reason why buttermilk is good for the skin is because it is loaded with Lactic Acid.  Lactic Acid is used by many doctors who perform expensive procedures to soften, brighten and exfoliate the skin.  It is also included in many skin peels.  Buttermilk is also known to treat aging skin such as age spots, freckles and also tightens skin.

Made with simple organic ingredients, CHEROKEEWEAH's Organic Buttermilk Soap can be a great soap for babies and people with sensitive skin.  This soap does not contain any colorants, fragrances and no harsh chemicals.  So there you have it, you can reap the benefits of Buttermilk without drinking it!

Has anyone have any positive experiences with buttermilk soap? Please respond in the comments area.

Thanks,
Soap Sista

Why Handmade Soap?

Don't Thank Me, Thank My Soap!

I guess you have heard by now that homemade soap is better than store bought soap.  That's true if the homemade soap is made from all natural ingredients.  You have different definitions of what is perceived as homemade.

Many beautiful soaps that we see are often crafted at home from a premixed solution known as Melt and Pour Soap. Some melt and pour soaps offer a healthier alternative to commercial soaps as many contains natural additives. Soapers are open to numerous choices that allow soapmakers to add as many natural additives as they like.

Many of the premixed solutions are made with the same ingredients we find in common household name store bought soaps.  However, I want to impress upon readers that it's better to have a close-to-natural melt and pour then an unatural soap. I will not incriminate anyone but I will share with you a few ingredients that might be in many of the commonly known store soaps:
